Sunday,
13th August was a special day for Felix and us. Felix made his maiden
debut at the Summer Cat Show Red Hot Heat Competition.
He
started the day looking timid and shy, guessing what he needs to do and whether
we would pick him up. For most of the morning, when he had the chance, he preferred
to show his buttock rather than his face.
He responded to the judge’s examinations, though in the first ring, he
wanted to walk out of the stage by himself.
After
a short afternoon nap, he seemed to have recharged and ready to go on. He
appeared more interested in the surrounding, enabling us to see more of his
face. He even looked up at the judges when they tried to muster his response.
We
as parent learnt more on how to bring up our children.
Apart from hygiene, proper grooming, physical and psychological health, self
discipline are equally important. Ideally, the child will also have to be outgoing,
as some competitors aggressively extend their greetings to the judges by saying
“Choose Me, I’m your star!”
Through this exercise, we come to know Felix better. He is actually pretty
intelligent, a quick learner and adapt fast. Felix, we believe your are a special child from God. Over time, we hope you will grow to like human
interactions and would enjoy serving the less privilege.
We
would like to extend our gratitude to Auntie Z and Auntie M for taking good care of Felix. Above all to Mandy
Tang for loving and caring about her grandson Felix. The other cat (son of Mandy Tang) in the photo is Tiger Baby - a highly intelligent and gifted actor who is well licked by the judges.
