Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!

Stella is thinking of preparing a roast piglet for Mid-Autumn Festival dinner.... In order for the skin to be crispy and crunchy, she decided to first sunbath in the beach.....

Is this really a piglet??!! Looks more like a pig to me!! Haha

Time to be thankful

Photo taken from website of All Saint Catherdal

After a 2 year wait, on 3rd October, we attended church service to celebrate Saint Francis Xavier's Day. Though less pet/parent attended than before, the atmosphere was still an enjoyable and joyous one.

Before going to church, the children paid a visit to elder brother's apartment for the first time. Goldie was the brightest one -- she came out of the carrier bag once the bag was unzipped. She strolled around the unit and found places for short nap as well.

Betty and Felix took a while to warm up, and was finally being dished out. Luckily, they also made their rounds at ease fairly soon.

Last but not least, Kitty the Angel turn 8 today. Time flies, but precious memories remain. I trust you are well and might have met both grannies by now. Thank you Kitty dear, for continuing to guard and protect us from above. Love you forever!

A belated Happy Mid-Autumn Festival to all our readers

This year, we didn't spent much time taking photos of the kids... too many things happening... But we do want to wish our friends a happy festive season with their family and love ones! Continue to stay safe and healthy!

Felix was pretty depressed after elder brother decided to move back to his own apartment on 11th Sept, as he has completed his duty to take care of both parents. It was at this moment of separation, that I deeply realised he did so much to keep the place running smoothly, and how much he cares about us!

I think he did miss the 3 cats, as he came back a few times each week to feed them. May God bless him and may he stay happy and healthy!

The following video might result in discomfort..... its really insane, right?

Miscellaneous

No particular theme this month, I just plan to update our record on some recent development....

1) We shall return mother's ashes back to nature tomorrow (16th August 2021), putting the graduation ceremony to a close. Though I have finished cleaning up and donated the clothing and related accessories, there are still quite a bit that remains to be done. The probate hearing won't happen till mid-November 2021, so hopefully matters related to her estate would be confirmed and distributed to relevant parties by the end of this year.

So far I have heard mother calling my name once - at 4am on the day prior to her funeral. I jumped up when being called and saw a vague image - an inverted white triangle on the top with a black circle in the lower middle and at the bottom is another white triangle -- my immediate interpretation is mother in her nursing sister uniform and usually when she calls my name, her voice is firm....

My helpers seemed to sense mother's presence more often -- either its the smell of Pak Fa Oil or snoring sound.... haha.... We miss you mummy! You and daddy are welcome back at any time. I hope both of you could find comfort and pride in seeing us continuing life anew!

2) Because Goldie's right nostril was found to be blocked in mid-July, the Oncologist suggested that we widen the nostril. Fortunately, our family vet Dr Tint, took onto this challenge and did a brilliant job. He first did a CT scan to get an idea on the size and location, used mainly nasal flushing to remove as much tissue as he could, assisted by some probing towards the end. He was happy with the result, as he estimated over half of the tissues have been removed.

Goldie recovered well, willing to start eating at the night of operation and back to normal the next day!

Goldie now starts her Metronomic chemo - taking Cuclophosphamide daily with hope to slowdown growth of blood vessels in the tumor, as chemo doesn't work for her.

Her right nostril is blocked, so instead of seeing black color, you see the pink tissue.

Tissues being removed. The big ones came from flushing, the smaller ones loosened when probed

Post operation - both nostrils are functioning normally.

We are truly grateful to Dr Irene, Dr Jacky and Dr Tint for the endless patience, guidance and advise/actions.

3) After 2 weeks of unstable health - suspect to be vomiting/gastroenteritis caused by change in cat litter, Felix return to normal after receiving some Tint Tint magic! No more vomiting and the blood test was perfectly normal. Hurray!!

As an aside, just a few video ..... enjoy!

Goldie turns 17 today!

Reaching 17 years old is not an easy achievement and should be a very happy occasion. However, this year, mummy is unable to celebrate outright with you, but did so in her heart....

" Goldie dear, I wish you lots of joy, love, good health and serenity in the time ahead! Let's not worry about the future, the future will take care of itself!"

Look at Betty's expressions !

Felix is 5 years old!

Felix, wish you Good Health, Lots of Joy and Happiness in the years to come!

Trust that we are now in the right path to normality, something that for many could be taken for granted, but for us, we can only hope that this could be within reach!

There's no KFC this time, as Felix is not allowed to have chicken. The 2 girls took a small bite of Jollie Bee for the first time and they like it more than KFC. Haha!

As an aside, some recent videos :

Happy Year of the Ox

We would like to wish our friends/readers:

Fortune, Auspicious, Happiness and Health in Year of the Ox!

December 24, 2020

Good bye 2020!

No doubt 2020 is an extraordinary year for all people on earth and is a real challenge on our patience, endurance, corporation and adaptability. Nevertheless, for the benefit of our own and our loved ones, we all strive to survive in our own way. So please continue to stay safe and vigilant, probably for another year or so !

For our family, the biggest challenge is Felix's health. At hindsight, apart from getting into the habit to save for the rainy days, keeping an open mind on the treatment options available, seek advise from multiple experts if possible, be on the lookout for the right clues (God's guidance) are very useful during tough times. Once a decision has been made, just go forth in faith, hope and love and strive each day to its fullest. The Lord has His plan for each of us, and He will guide and guard us through different challenges.

As for the happiest moment, its the perfect report card (full blood test, Idexx SDMA and ProBNP Feline test) from Goldie who is over 16 years old. Just hope that this positive momentum would continue in the days to come.

As for the saddest moment, a few friends has lost their beloved kitties, but luckily all are able to adjust and adapt to continue life anew.

Finally,......

So, what will the children be getting for Christmas?.....  their bath...... hahaha! But don't you think they look fresh ?!
