Goldie - hope u will continue to make progress

Goldie used to jump up onto the dinning chair and sit next to me while I have my dinner during weekdays. One day towards the end of  January, she did something weird. She walked close to the chair, but didn't jump up immediately. Instead, she stood up and measured the height. Sit down and then jumped up.

On the following day, she came close to the chair and just sat underneath it. The next day, she didn't even bother to come out.

So took her to see family vet after Chinese New Year. Vet said she got arthritis. So recommended she take a series of 4 weekly injections to see the effects. The problem with this treatment is after each visit, she has soft poo. Vet checked her poo and found no problem with it. So suspect its tension which caused it.

She started a weekly course of Vitamin B injection from home and will revisit vet in 1 months time. Touch wood. So far so good.

The other positive progress is those black lumps in her ears and chin are shrinking and one big lump even burst and didn't grow back...... We are only seeing early signs of improvement and is far from a full recovery, but I'm already very happy with the progress...... just hope that soon Goldie can become back a bi-color cat rather than a tri-color one.

Betty is 4 years old today

Betty, my dear:

During the past four years, you have grown up a lot. You started as a "Hong Kong Primary Chick" who went wild easily. You don't like to be groomed, to be touched, needless to say, to be carried.

I do remember your resentment when Felix first came - you not only pissed Felix, but you hid yourself and refused to eat. It was a complete contrast to Goldie's easy going attitude. Frankly speaking, during those first few days, I deeply regretted having you. However, with my seeing and talking to you eye to eye, my firm instructions to you all to love and respect each other, and commitment that I will continue to love you all, that I regained your trust in us and the dust started to settle.

Betty, I am truly grateful and thankful of your efforts to change for the good. You are now not only a very understanding child, a potential PR personnel of the family, and a very caring sister. I really admire your respect to Goldie, and your playfulness with Felix.

With my long winded talks, you are now starting to gradually accept grooming. You are very co-operative while bathing, though more patience is required when blow dry. This year, I'm sure you can see for yourself that with constant brushing, you have a very rich scarf for the winter.

Betty, my only wish is that you will continue to enjoy life and be a happy child. Eat well, gain some more weight, grow, mature and let your inner beauty shine and prosper.

May God bless you and looking forward to the countless years ahead!

December 31, 2017

2017 is a year of mixed feelings

Though 2017 marks a new beginning for our family, to continue life anew. I am truly grateful with the Lord's blessings, that all of us were able to walk hand in hand out of our grievances and continue life afresh. Family members have learnt to be more forthcoming and caring as life is totally unpredictable.

The 3 children continue with their lazy go easy lifestyle:

- We are truly thankful, that Goldie's open wound in her left paw finally got healed. She is now taking Chinese medicine with the hope to cure those lumps in her ears and chin. Though it is too early to see whether Chinese medicine could help, but Goldie is really a very understanding child. She takes those smelly, bitter liquid Chinese medicine without a grain of salt. Goldie dear, I really hope your efforts will pay off handsomely. Lord, please answer our prayer.

- Betty has matured this year and remains the elegant lady. She seems to have assumed the role of PR cat. Becoming more friendly with human, though at times, she teases baby brother Felix.

- Felix not only grew in weight and size, he also showed us that he is a quick learner and adapts well to pressure. By coincidence, I found out that laser pointer is his favorite toy, making him dash around like a Ferrari.......

In less than 6 hours, 2017 will be soon be history.

We want to wish our friends a Happy, Healthy & Joyous 2018!

December is a challenging but rewarding month

The children were pretty successful in their Christmas Charitable drive. A big Thank You to all who have LIKED their picture. They came in second and won a total of 10 kg of dry cat food and 1 bag of cat litter, all of which have been donated to Connie Wong, a reputable cat volunteer.

Felix also went had his luck in his second cat show in mid-December. He is a quick learner and adopts well. Though unplaced in 2 of the 5 rings. He came in 2nd (a total surprise to us), 7th and 8th in the other 3 rings and came in 8th out of 21 competitors in the Household Pet Category. The most rewarding thing is we learn more on how to make our children a more adorable and happy kid.

October again!

October... a month of mixed feelings... On October 6th, Kitty dear, you will become a 4 year old angel. I'm sure you have a lot of friends, enjoying the freedom, healthiness and peacefulness. We all am proud to have you in our family. Though we miss your presence, but love never fades.

Yesterday, both of your sisters Goldie and Betty, and brother Felix went to church for St. Francis Xavier service. Apart from receiving the blessings from the Lord, we learn't from the sermon, that its true that we shall meet someday.

So Kitty, have you met our daddy yet? He went to heaven in December last year while in his sleep. I'm sure both of you must have a lot of catching up to do. Keep the conversation going.... We miss you both. God bless you all!

As an aside, is Betty really so attentive during the service?
