Its 2 years today..... Hope you are well, My Dear

Dearest Kitty,

In my mind, October is the month dedicated to you -- A time to reminisce of the past, a time for thankfulness and a time of hope.

It had been 2 years since we are physically separated, but psychologically, we are closer to each other than before. I still continue to listen to “I carry you in my heart” each week while on my way to work. It reminded me of your presence within me. I am truly thankful of those special moments – to love and be loved; being able to know you and to have you as part of my life, and enriched me with some knowledge of pet care for which I could share with others (hopefully constructively), and introduced me to countless number of parents for whom some are close friends now.

Life at home hasn’t changed much in the past year. Grannies are both fine, though they have weakened a bit – that’s ageing, I guess. SS and HH have both went abroad for further studies, but in their minds, you remain the smartest and loveliest. Both Aunties are still helping around, but Auntie Z will soon be leaving us for good. We will sure miss her and I think you would too, as you know how much she loves and cares about you.

Goldie is still the good little sister, growing under your footsteps and is a great mentor to Betty. As for Betty, she is finally gaining some weight and her fur has thickened, making her look more like a cat than a child from Ethiopia now. However, Betty still likes to bite, naughty at times, but one thing that brings me great comfort is their closer bonding – there were times when Goldie was sleeping on her bed, that Betty would go and gently kiss her on the head without disturbing her. There is at least one thing which Betty might have picked up from you – sit with her hands crossed – an elegant lady!! Ha ha!!

Kitty, I only hope that you will remain happy with what you do, healthy and am a real angel to all who need your help and love. Unfortunately, a lot of parents lost their children lately, and I hope you don’t mind helping them in settling down in Rainbow Bridge, as not everyone of them are fortunate like you to be greeted by your brother when you first arrive there.

Nowadays, whenever I come across long hair blue Persian with lovely eyes, I will immediately think of you, but I am very sure that I will not take on one, as I don’t think its fair to compare either one of you. So take care, my dear Kitty. Don’t worry about us. I know I will not be lonely, for I have you warmly tucked up in a special place in my heart. Just live happily and whenever you want to visit us, just feel free to drop by, as we remain one family unbroken…. I’m sure Goldie would love your visits too as she proudly sees you as her role model. God bless you forever dear…..

I remain
Your loving mother…..

P.S. I thought my tears would have been dried by now, but in reality its not….
