Felix is 4 years old ..... Hurray!!!

We clearly remember around same time last year, we were worried that Felix might not be able to celebrate his third birthday. Luckily he did. However, the journey thereafter was very rugged, casting doubt about the future. Luckily, under the professional care of Dr. V and Dr. J, Felix's life slowly return to normal.

 

Though we don't know what holds for Felix in the future, all we know that LOVE can work magic. As parent, we are naturally greedy -- wishing for many+many+many more birthday celebrations together in the years to come.

 

Realistically, we will strive to live life to its fullest -- keeping Felix in tip-top health/condition, to be filled with love, peace, joy and hope!

Times under COVID-19

Unfortunately, February 2020 is another memorable month.... Normal daily life is being severely challenged by Coronavirus. Apart from having to wear face mask when going out, wash one's hands, face, spectacles, clothing and from head to toe upon return, no social life for the time being.

 

The kids at home might not sense the difference, except why mummy is not going to work daily? Has she won the Mark 6 jackpot? She's been fired? Home office? Anyway, from their behavior, they don't seem to be worried about anything.... Life as normal.... Lucky kids!

 

 

Since Felix started taking Chinese medicine in 2019, we start to comb their back daily. Luckily over time, they are getting used to it. Hope this can help improve their health and appearance!

Betty turns 6 today

Time flies! Betty turn 6 years old today!

 

Betty has changed from being a panicky 港女, into a considerate and caring sister. Since Felix's arrival, she slowly develop into his mentor and playmate. She's exceptionally caring towards Goldie, checking on her and kiss her at times. Physically, she is energetic and playful.

 

Happy birthday, dear! Wish you good health, lots of joy and happiness at all times!

As an aside, we want to update on the result of a competition held in December 2019.

 

Mission accomplished! Thank you all for your support!

 

 

 

Frankly, I didn’t take the competition too seriously and dare to forget about it till close to deadline.

 

Anyway, we were lucky to came in second. Which means, we can donate 4kg of Vigor & Sage dry cat food to help less fortunate children.

 

The shop owner of 星星寵物美容 Ms. Bear Bear was very nice, with a loving heart -- she gave us an extra 2 kg after she knew its all for cat volunteer. She also welcome Kelly Choy (our nominated volunteer) to go and pick it up, thus saves a lot of our handling time.

2019, not a year we want to look back....

Well, its nearly time to say Good Bye to 2019.....

The year started with hope, but soon turned rough when Felix fell sick, which unfortunately coincided with my mother being not well either..... By now, luckily, every one is able to slowly climb out of the trough and continue their life journey in relative peace and happiness..... , while I thrive to keep my job (to meet Felix's medical bill!!) Haha !! Thanks be to God!!

Just a brief summary on the kid's condition:

Goldie

A good girl she remains. As a 15 year old lady, I would say she is keeping up decently. A blood test in October found out that her GGT was alarming at 86 (normal 0-4) and her weight was on a minor downtrend. Ultrasound did showed some signs of degeneration for some organs (which is inevitable).  Luckily having taken both Western and CTM, her GGT return to normal (at 0 in 12/19)  and her weight was up a notch (my best X'mas present).

The most caring child amongst the three. She is a dear little angel to the family. She usually greets her brother/sister when they return from vet consultation and seldom fights for attention. At most, she will join Felix in his daily exercise fun. Though sometimes, she is a bit picky on food, she managed to gain some weight. Her fur seems to have thickened a bit too!

 

Thank you, dear. You have a big loving heart! As the middle child, you sometimes might feel being neglected. Rest be assured, its not mean't to be so, and we will try to improve on this. Just continue to run, play, eat and sleep well and enjoy the family fun!

 

Felix

 

 

 

The year began with hope, as his blood platelet slowly return to normal, after suffering from drug allergy in late 2018. However, good days never lasted long. In March, his bile and liver condition deteriorated. Got his gall bladder removed and a temporary stent was placed in his twisted bile duct. However, the road to recovery was very rough and tough. July, was the worst period, when he was in and out of hospital on alternate weeks, and plans were underway for a second operation to insert a permanent stent.

 

With the grace of God, while waiting for the permanent stent (arrived in 9/19), the new drugs and CTM treatments started to shed light. Although it is still too early to announce of his recovery, at least he had been staying out from hospitalization for 4 months already. With love, care, vigilance and proper medical treatment, we will continue to keep our fingers crossed that he can avoid being "butchered".... haha.

 

Thank you, dear for being a good child and excellent patient. We think you know that all the treatment are for your long term good and you co-operate brilliantly. Just hang in there. Have faith! Be optimistic and patient! Hopefully we will soon see the sunrise!
